AutoCAD’s own AI features help you inside an existing drawing. Plan Chat does the part before that: it draws the floor plan for you. Describe the building, or give it a sketch, a photo or a PDF of a plan, and an AI drafter draws walls, doors, windows, a grid, dimensions and a room schedule on standard layers. Download the DWG (or, for sketches and images, draw straight from AutoCAD with the plug-in) and keep working the way you always do.

- Tell it your units (mm, m, or feet and inches) so INSUNITS matches your template.
- Give your standard wall thicknesses in the first message.
- Use the AI for the first 80 %: layout, walls, openings, dimensions. Detail and annotate to your office standard in AutoCAD.
- Keep each change request to one or two things; every change is a new version.

Is there an AI for AutoCAD that draws floor plans?
Yes. Plan Chat is an AI drafter that draws floor plans as layered, dimensioned DWG files from a description, a sketch, an image or a PDF. You open the DWG in AutoCAD or insert it with the Plan Chat plug-in.
Does AutoCAD have AI built in?
AutoCAD includes assistive features such as smart blocks and markup import that work inside a drawing you are making. They do not draw a floor plan for you from a brief or a sketch; that is what Plan Chat does before you open AutoCAD.
Can AI convert my sketch to AutoCAD?
Yes. Photograph the sketch, upload it, and the drafter redraws it as CAD using the dimensions you wrote on it. Download the DWG and continue in AutoCAD.
Can AI make AutoCAD blueprints of a house?
It draws the floor plan of the house as a layered AutoCAD DWG from a brief, a sketch or an old plan. Full blueprint sets (elevations, sections, structure) still need a designer; the floor plan is where they start.
Do I need an AutoCAD license?
No. The studio runs in the browser with its own CAD tools. You need AutoCAD (or another DWG program) only to open the file on your machine.
What does it cost?
