How it works
1. Write the brief
Rooms, approximate size, number of storeys, style and plot. One or two sentences are enough; more detail gives you more control.
2. The drafter plans and draws
It reports the overall size, grid and room list it chose, then draws the plan step by step, live.
3. Refine in words
"Bedroom 2 a bit larger", "add a window to the bathroom", "garage on the street side": each change is a new version.

Assumptions in the open
Anything you did not specify, the drafter decides and says so, instead of asking you twenty questions first.
Metric or imperial
"About 1,800 sq ft" gives you feet and inches and sq ft areas; "120 m²" gives you metres and m².

The DXF and DWG carry standard layers, real door and window blocks and dimension entities.

Tips for the best result
- Lead with the total size and the bedroom count.
- Mention relationships: "laundry off the garage", "office near the entry".
- Give the plot width if the house has to fit a narrow lot.
- Ask for one floor at a time for multi-storey buildings.
Questions
Can AI create a floor plan from a text description?
Yes. Plan Chat turns a written description into a dimensioned CAD floor plan with walls, doors, windows, furniture, room names and areas, which you can then change by describing the change.
What should I write in the description?
The total area or overall size, the rooms you need, the number of storeys and anything that matters to you about where rooms sit. The drafter fills in the rest and tells you what it assumed.
Can I write in my own language?
Yes. The drafter answers in the language of your message and labels the rooms in it, for example Spanish, German, French or Portuguese.
What file do I get?
A layered DXF, a DWG (AutoCAD 2010) and a PDF sheet on A3 at a true scale with a title block. You can also view the plan in 3D and order photoreal renders.
How is this different from an AI image generator?
An image generator paints something that looks like a plan. Plan Chat draws a measured CAD file: dimensions and areas are computed from the geometry and every element can be edited.
